Problems caused by mole infestations and mole hills.
There are a lot of moles needing mole control around Dunfermline and in Fife. Moles are very common in Fife, living in the hills, woods and the open countryside and there are always more ready to invade and make molehills in fields, playing fields, golf courses and gardens.
Moles are very destructive. They can throw up their mole hills and cause damage at any time, but the autumn, winter and early spring are when they really become active; they can work their way through a lawn or seeded field with very quickly. Mole runs dug in the soil damage the ground and form holes, which dangerous on playing fields and in paddocks. Soil and stones thrown up in molehills spoil the surface and damage machinery, and the soil can contaminate silage, causing Listeriosis disease in sheep and cattle.
Treating mole infestations and molehills
People think that the ancient skills and knowledge of the traditional mole catchers has been lost but his is wrong. We are very skilled in the old art of mole trapping and expert in getting rid of moles and mole control: we catch hundreds each year!
We can deal with moles just about anywhere. We’ve used mole pest control in Cleish on a farm. We got rid of moles in a paddock using mole pest control in Kirkcaldy. We’ve got rid of molehills in many gardens using mole pest control in Dunfermline. We’ve cleared golf courses using mole pest control in Glenrothes. We’ve rescued the grounds of a holiday chalet park from molehill damage by using mole pest control in Cupar. And, where other mole catchers had failed, we got rid of moles in the grounds of a country house using all our skills of mole pest control in Auchtermuchty.
Mole control methods that we use to get rid of moles and molehills
We use the traditional method of setting mole traps in mole runs, safely below the surface of the ground. This is a skilled craft and we know all the old, country ways of using mole traps to get the best results.
We use well-made, reliable traps so we have good mole catch and clearance rates; using good quality traps ensures that the mole trap works humanely. Poor traps produces poor quality mole control.
We also use the very effective method of gassing moles in their mole runs using Aluminium Phosphide (poison gas). This gas is legally licensed in the UK and is used for rat and rabbit control too. Its purchase, storage, use and disposal are tightly controlled legally because it is dangerous if not used properly. We’ve used this gas for many years and we know exactly how to use it safely so that you, your family, pets & livestock and the environment are unharmed. We hold the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Aluminium Phosphide for Vertebrate Pest Control.
And we can collapse the mole runs after we’ve cleared them of moles but they are so good at digging that very soon they make more runs and throw up yet more molehills when they do it!
