Identifying Pest Problems

Sometimes it can be difficult to identify signs of pests and decide if you’ve actually got a pest problem or not. And then you have to decide if you need to do anything about it, and what to do!

On top of that there’s always the worry that if you let a pest problem get out of hand, it could damage your house, belongings, property, garden, grounds, business and reputation.

It could be a risk to human health too; yours, your family, your staff, your customers and guests, children in school and patients in hospitals. And it could be a risk to animal health; pets, hens, water fowl and livestock.

For example, you hear noises in the wall but think it’s your imagination. You find a heap of soil outside near the house and decide you’ve a mole in the garden. But, your pest problem is really a rat infestation; rats digging in under the wall, chewing electric cables under the floor, spreading Weil’s Disease inside and Salmonella outside at the hen run.

It smells musty in the upstairs office, you think it’s a touch of damp. You can hear birds on the roof, you decide that they’ll go away eventually. But, you end up with pigeons nesting inside the roof, bird fleas biting staff in the office and fly and moth infestations in the shop and food on the ground floor.
